I didn't even get any of the last five...then as soon as you walk out everyone's like "Oh man, that was sooo easy." I wish I could eat Jinghang/Allan's brain =]
lolwtf I ran out of time cause at first I was going SUPER slowly and carefully...I spent like 1 whole minute on the first question [(2000+9)+(2000-9)] then like 2 min on each one after that -.-'
No $50 for me this year =[
Zomg chem was so stupid today...didn't get any of it at all cause I didn't go last week...even phys yesterday was better. It was actually pretty funny cause we have Khoury!!! And Louie.
Khoury: "Where's Amol?"
Louie: "Burrowing underground."
Then Paul does his super contagious giggle/snort/laugh and everyone can't help laughing too x) Seriously, Paul has the funniest laugh ever ^__^
Went home then came back for extremely boring Subject Selection Evening - the only good thing was that they had FOOD!!! xD Everyone's eyes were like glued to the table the whole session.
Then the teacher's like "We will now have a 10-15 minute break" and the Asians descended like vultures. Or more like peregrine falcons. They're faster at 440km/h. Though still not fast enough to outrun starving asians.
Trying to squeeze through the sea of a mere ONE person deep crowd is harder than you think with asian parents. It's like trying to get to a $100 note with a piece of super elastic glad wrap between the both of you - you can see the $100 note; it keeps taunting you, but no matter how hard you shove your face against the plastic and try to get to it some invisible force keeps bouncing you back. In this case the "invisible force" was the gluteus maximus of the relentlessly advancing asian parents.
Then you see an asian parent with their plate bearing a strange resemblance to the graph on a Cartesian plane of a starving child's fervour and anticipation level as he is led to believe that he is about to finally reach the table of food as an asian parent in front of him leaves the table only to realise seconds later that in that microsecond of jubilation another asian parent has slipped into the gap previously occupied by the first parent.
In other words, their plate looks kind of like this:

Note in particular, the amount of food, which funnily enough is labelled "FOOD".
Luckily after some top ninja stealth work, I made my way through the impenetrable barrier, and found myself the remains of the sushi, egg tarts, cheese puffs and all this other stuff =)
Then once your plate starts to also resemble the graph of y=-|x| you feel the eyes of another asian parent upon you. You look to the left from where the force seems to be emanating. Unlike Newton's Third Law, you do not possess the power to return an equal and opposite staring force, for Newtonian Laws cease to exist within the environment of a black hole that sucks life out of its surroundings, a la Dementors. Turns out the asian mother beside you is supposedly one that your mother knows (asian parents know ALL other asian parents), and hence you are meant to know them as well.
"Harllo Cellarmant. How are-lo yew?"
"Oh, hi um...(racks brain for name of asian mother but hits mental block)"
*Awkward turtle moment*
During this conversation I also had a half eaten sushi slice mashed between my teeth...then like 10 seconds later I suddenly remember whose mum she was ><"
I crawl my way back to safety inside the windbreak of Jeffery who is with Fang, and Fang points to a man on the opposite side of the table.
"Haha dudes, look at that guy's plate. What an asian!" The guy is dressed in a brown jacket, looks a typical asian father, and wears glasses.
That "guy" is also my dad.
*Awkward turtle moment*
*Someone coughs*
*Cricket chirps outside*
Then we randomly burst into laughter =)
Mr. Woodhouse rings a bell to signal the end of the tea break. No one takes notice - obviously food is of the utmost importance now. After 3 more rings, we finally get back to our seats. It also turns out asian parents would probably excel at our Social Engineering Challenge too. They managed to stack the cups and plates in such a way that the bin filled to 2x its full capacity - the cups were literally coming out of the bin to a height of like 80cm or more - perfectly balanced o__O
We listen for another hour or so of ramblings (including this girl who never seemed to pause for breath at all) and then leave for home! What a fun day =)
Then I go home and play Peggle. Yayyy.
Lol I just realised there was this cool labels section in here. Gonna try it out hehe
Guesspac. Now there's a good name for it...
ReplyDeleteThe hexagon question was easy though! Wasn't it? What was it even doing in the last 5 questions... D:
