Halfway through the holidays now. I can't stand the thought of work. Even thinking about the potato trial (which I just remembered thanks to "Noob's" comment) makes me instantly like freeze and this wave of annoyance and weariness breaks over me ==;

I don't wanna do maths either. Though I know everyone in the grade right now is probably slaving away at their textbooks . . . I feel so scared I'm gonna fall behind.

On an interesting sidenote, the term "surfing the net" came about to ironically describe the minimal energy involved in browsing the Internet.

Did anyone find that the Board of Studies test yourself quiz pie chart looked more like a PacMan? Probably not cause I was the only one to score that low LOL:

Now, I know that all of you nice little kids must have played Minesweeper Flags before. I was versing Richard, and all of a sudden, out of nowhere comes a 6!!! That's right. A six! I have never seen that before in all my years of Minesweeper Flags o_O

See there?! In the bottom left quadrant (or quadrant III if you like =D ).

Speaking of Richard, I decided to name my Pokemon rival after him muahahaha. Because there actually is such a character in Pokemon, who's Ash's best friend and also has a Pikachu and Charmander.

Except I later found out it was spelt Richie and it was too late to change ==;

Near the end of the year, I also managed to catch Arceus. That's right! The most insanely powerful Pokemon ever!

Except my Arceus is the most gangster one you will have ever met, because it's totally haxx0rrrr =D. In comparison, other Arceuses look like Level 2 Rattattas. You see there? It's special ability is Wonder Guard. Only one other Pokemon has that ability, and that's Shedinja, who only has 1 HP. Why? Because Wonder Guard neutralises ALL damage from attacks unless they are supereffective. In which case Shedinja will die instantly because it only has 1 HP. But my Arceus has 999 HP!!! =)

It's so irritating getting bossed around by a song that you actually bought when you could have just been like 80% of the world and illegally pirate it ==; 

Even songs downloaded from iTunes which everyone uses aren't that demandingly irritating -.-" For one you can actually play them on other computers and stuff. The only drawback is it's in a weird format like "m4a" or something o_O

We all played Google Earth flight simulator at school near the end of last year for every single SDD period (since we weren't allowed to DOTA or CS ==;)

(If anyone hasn't seen them, its an ad with some dumb woman with huge boobs going "Play now, My Lord.")

And the dumb thing is, apparently (no I did not sign up ==") "there isn't even any woman in the game".

I hate that sense of guilt. . . . Does anyone else get that feeling of guilt almost as if you're stealing when you walk out of a store without having bought anything, and the cashier/shopkeeper is just staring at you go past. Almost makes me actually want to buy something ==;

Spent like 12 till 2 talking to Alex. Then remembered . . . oh crap I really need to crap. So I then crapped for like 30 minutes. Came back to computer and spelt another whole hour reading lolfbmoments. MOST HILARIOUS WEBSITE EVER THOUGH =P

Then remembered I had to shower and wash my hair at like 3:30 -.-""

Finally came out like all refreshed at 4. Which is apparently bad. Because asian mothers always tell you washing your hair at night will give you "foong sup" ==; So asian lol

Went on YouTube and stuff to pass the time cause my hair was still wet.  Speaking of YouTube, Joey I have an awesome physics video for you. It's something called the Ruben's Tube, and basically put it is a visual representation of the sound waves input into it.

You have a pipe, with holes drilled in at around half inch intervals. You then somehow feed gas into it, light it so that fire comes out of the holes, then feed music through it. Which then gives you a visual representation of the sound waves:

It's really pretty amazing. Why it works is because of the different pressures that each part of the wave exerts inside the pipe, affecting the amount of gas that comes out. If that makes sense. High pressures will have more gas coming out I think. Not sure though =[

So then something in my head went . . . check Gmail Nokia email for when my download credit expires. At 4:30 freaking o'clock. I was pretty sure it was the 10th of January but decided to check just in case. Then suddenly . . .

"You can still use your unused credit to download music until midnight on the day before the expiry date."

I was like OMG YOU CAN'T BE SERIOUS and walloping the computer to give me back my money cause I was just like a few hours over. Immediately opened Nokia Music (which takes FOREVER to load a single page) and signed in feeling a heart attack coming (opening it and signing in took almost a hair-ripping 10 minutes)

Then sighed a huge sigh of relief when my money was still there. I think it went by US time . . . phew. Luckily Sydney's like the first major city to reach midnight.

So I wasted like 3 min loading each page in Nokia Music trying to download it before they took down my money . . . it was like 5am by now . . . and the stupid sun was reflecting off the clouds . . . 

FINALLY at like 5:30 I'd finally gotten Nokia Music to download my songs -.-"

No one EVER buy from Nokia Music. That was more like 6 month old credit . . . not 1 year old. They lied O_O And also the songs you download have restrictions. You see:

1. They are strictly kept in WMA format.

2. Do not try converting from WMA format. You will fail.

3. Attempts to play it on other computers other than your very own will fail due to the other computer not having the correct "Media Usage Rights".

4. This annoys me the most: This will NOT play on your iPod, in your iTunes (affiliation with Windows Media Player to force people to use it?), or any other player apart from a Nokia player.

5. Do not think you can outsmart Nokia by putting the song as the background to a video, then re-extracting the audio to create an MP3 audio copy. It will not work. Lol I tried. T___T

Before when I was downloading all my songs from http://www.bandit.fm/, NONE of the songs had completely absurd and unreasonable restrictions like those. More importantly, they will actually PLAY on my iPod. Not only this, but some songs are actually cheaper on Bandit than on Nokia Music.

And Nokia Music is unbelievably laggy! It gets really annoyingly bloated after a while.

At least I finally got all my awesome country music =D 

Speaking of which, heard Tim McGraw was number 1 on the 2009 country charts, so I looked up his number 1 song, and found another awesome song! It's called My Next 30 Years and it's so pro =)

Hearing it makes me scared thinking about where I'll be in 30 years. 46 years old o_O 

Wonder what job I'll be doing then.

If you think about it, only 10 years has passed from 2000, in Year 1, and everything's already changed.

Most of the websites we use most now wouldn't even exist. No Wikipedia, Facebook, Youtube or MSN!!! Clunky monitors with Windows 2000. No blogs. No e-cards (people used to send postcards and letters once). No iPods and barely any MP3 players. In fact, I don't even recall anyone playing MP3s on computers back then. Phones like these were considered totally sleek and sexy:

An ultimate thief-proof phone. 

No TV screens on the back of seats for planes even for 20 hour flights O_O

Kind of makes you wonder what/how all the teenagers a mere decade ago spent their days and holidays. Completely different to us. 

And of course, no freaking psychotic terrorists. I feel so sorry for Muslim people who become discriminated against just because a miniscule few people give them a bad name. 

It's a new decade, and the whole of Denistone East is different now. All the old equipment is gone and all our classrooms are different. In fact, my sister and I both agree it looks more like a prison now. Metal shade grilles cover all the windows, and all the two storey buildings are built surrounding a central quadrangle, with 3m high white vertical bar fences blocking off some paths.

It was so much funner 10 years ago =[

I still remember going to the Olympics like heaps of times, and you know how they had to put marks on your ticket everytime you went into a venue to limit how many times you went around? Even in Year 1 we thought of rubbing it off cause it was only whiteboard marker ==;

Ooh, and in the Olympic basketball games, you know how its all dark in the audience stands and slopes down REALLY steeply? 

We all folded paper planes and started throwing them at people down before our teacher realised and killed us =DD

Speaking of paper planes, they have really weird flight patterns. Like seriously they always seem to go in the exact WRONG places. Another time in Yr 1 we were all folding planes during class, and I had this mini one which I threw as hard as I could. It literally turned 180° and came back, and literally shot RIGHT INTO the floppy disk drive. Right in. It was actually turned on its side so that it would fit into the drive . . .

If you hadn't seen it you wouldn't have believed it O_O

It was actually completely jammed and wouldn't come out one inch.

My . . . that was awkward

Awkward moments define my life. There's even a Facebook group for it.

But first things first. BACK TO SCHOOL =O

Went to BIG W for the Back to School sale today. Spent like 30 minutes with my rentz and sister trying to decide which books were the best value ==; WELL HERE'S A HINT

Do not go for BIG W value. The ones produced by BIG W (those ones whose covers are just one colour, like blue for the 128pg ones, with the bottom right corner white). The paper in it is so crappy that ink just bleeds through it or it rips T___T

Get the Victory ones instead. For the A5 ones, the smaller the number of pages, the greater the value. Like the 5c 64pg ones (which is still more expensive than previous years but are almost gone). However, for A4, the greater the number of pages, the greater the value.

And also to add, the $2.92 15 Kilometrico pens are crap too -.-"" They're not the normal ones - they're actually made "exclusively" for BIG W to offer. And hence . . . half of them won't work properly.

Then went to the check out lane. You know how when you kind of know someone, but not really? Like they're in your grade, but you like never talk and when you see them you really can't be bothered to go up to them and say hi to? Saw Wilson's mum like 1 checkout lane away except I kept staring cause I recognised his mum but didn't know who it was at first . . .

Then I just realised that "greenguy" next to her turned out to be Wilson lol

I think he probably saw me. Except I didn't go over. It'd be an extremely awkward conversation anyway.

Then parents thought there was an error with the purchase and (like all azns) stayed outside for like 5 minutes double checking over everything's prices ==;

I was like can't we all freaking go already?!

And all the time I was facing away from the entrance with a random hugeass ancient book from the bookstore outside covering my face.

I hate meeting people you know slightly but not every well. Like that super freaking long C block corridor (have I mentioned this before?). You see someone in the distance. The corridor is empty and silent. You don't know them that well. Except the bad thing is you still know them. You make eye contact. Uh oh O_O When do you say hi? If you say it too quickly, the rest of the walk to where you meet will be intensely awkward. If you wait too long to say it, the whole walk and the greeting will be even more awkward. And in the end you just stare in the opposite direction pretending there's something fascinating about the yellow painted asbestos bumps on the walls flitting past until you get near them, and suddenly go "Oh hello. Didn't see you there" =O

Awwwwkwardd bro.

Another intensely awkward moment for my sister yesterday (fortunately I had gone up to my room a minute ago). Watching TV with your parents. Your whole family. Including your grandma who has come over to stay for a week. Programme[yes, I refuse to succumb to English (US)] changes. Ads, then fade to black. Then fade to the stupid freaking classification guidelines for the programme. It pops up and suddenly all conversation ceases.

This programme is classified MA. It includes strong violence, sexual themes, references and explicit scenes. Parental guidance is recommended for viewers below the age of 15.

And then . . . silence. Deathly awkward turtle silence. Someone coughs. Cricket chirps outside. The whole family freezes. In fact, even the classification screen literally freezes for around 5 seconds. But that might as much be 5 hours.

Keep in mind this was FREAKING ABC. The ever educational Australian Broadcasting Corporation.

And it would be too awkward to change the channel now, wouldn't it?

And finally relief. Intense relief as the classification screen fades away into black. This never happened.

Guess what the first scene was. I think you probably could.

It zoomed into two people in mutual embrace (that's as nice as I can put it). A hand reached up and grabbed something. Something.

And then my dad finally changed the channel. lmao.

Oh and speaking of classification. Which brings me to refused classification. Which brings me to censoring. Which brings me to the issue of Kevin Rudd.

You might have seen on the news about him following pronstar Alyssa Roxi on Twitter. Which is quite dumb of him to be honest, considering he's our prime minister, and everyone stalks him. What's weird is how in the whole of Google, there's only one website talking about that. And it's from New Zealand. Not even one Australian website talking about it O_O It's like he's already started censoring the whole country. Evil Stephen Conroy . . .

It's a new decade!!!

I read an SMH article. One that claimed the new year was nothing to celebrate about. That we did not need fireworks, or parties, or gatherings, to see in the new year. IT LIED O_O

2010! It means a new start! A new ME!!

(Yes I know that's what I said last year. And the year before that. And so on. BUT THIS YEAR'S DIFFERENT! I just know it! ) =D

Even the stars are aligned astronomically to smile favourably upon us!!!

2010! It means the decade, aptly titled the ONEDERS, has begun!!!

2010! It means even writing the date from now on in my maths book, will be shorter. Think about it. Think mathematically about it. Instead of writing 00 for the year 2000, I now write 10 for the year 2010. This means that my ink will be wasted 3.141592653589737 times less! (Think C = Pi * D)

Now if we project this simple idea, extrapolate it to include the whole of Australia, the whole of the world, this means a whole new concept.

For though it may seem trivial for us, our one small step towards writing a 10 instead of 00, has an undeniable effect worldwide. It is a crucial step, a powerful step, towards our united action towards the mitigation of climate change.

This means that less ink shall be wasted. Less paper will be wasted, for the width of a 1 is infinitely tiny in comparison to the width of a 0.

This means that our one small step, entwined with the strides of many others, will leave an unstoppable footprint in the earth – one that will be the start of a long journey towards reducing our impact and mitigating global warming on our precious earth. Until you've cycled through every SINGLE line in the song. Then it repeats all the lyrics again . . . twice before the window closes. LOL!!!

Oops lol. Missed posting on my blog's birthday yesterday =P Spent the day bumming around Burwood Westfield and everywhere around it with rentz and sister. Free parking changed to the first 2 hours only ==; It used to be completely free without those annoying tollgate thingys.

Went to Kmart to shop for FISHING RODS to take on our holiday!!! 30% off or something . . . except they were all expensive as crap (well not literally) or there were these cheap ones that didnt have any spools on them .__. So it's back to the 10 year old crappy fish rod we have lol

Being asian we went out to this random street once our 2 hrs was up and parked there instead. Went off walking for a random place to eat and found this awesome Viet restaurant after like 30 min of walking =D 

Went past Burwood Plaza except it was kinda saddening to see everything changed. They used to have these big button pads on the ground that kids could like press so that these HUGE animals (like monkeys and stuff) on the roof up above would move around and do stuff. It was so cool!!! Then they removed it. =[ Killed the monkey. But this was a long time ago I guess. Around 10 years ago or so.

It's probably just me that cares though lol. I just weird. Don't like change or growing up. Can't believe it's like Year 11 already O_O Which is why I'm kinda like hanging onto my childhood. YES I STILL DO WATCH POKEMON >=DD

Speaking of Pokemon movies, just finished watching Pokemon Heroes (the 5th movie) last week or something. It's so sad but still really good (Y) You guys should go watch it. I'll try not to kill the plot but it's still kinda dumb how weak Latios and Latias are considering they're LEGENDARIES (albeit one of many). And even when Latios is hurt, he could have just used Recover. Though he wouldn't really need to. Cause he could have just Lustre Purged Team Rocket into oblivion. But he didn't. ==;

Also watched Apollo 13 on Ten or something. It's so awesome cause I thought that Apollo 13 was the one that completely failed and everyone died on (hence 13 being unlucky). But it wasn't =D They were coming back to Earth and then I was like "Oh crap they're gonna die" cause I was like sure Apollo 13 was the one that vaporised in the atmosphere. And then I was like about to cry (not really but was kinda sad) when it was dead silent for 4 minutes cause the whole control centre was waiting for a response to their radio call. 

And then suddenly Tom Hanks comes through the radio with like "Houston, we are here" or something. AND THEN I WENT SO HAPPY YAY!!! and everyone in the control centre was like CHYEAHHH and hugging each other and crying =]

Which made me want to be an astrophysicist or whatever they're called even more hehe

So I'm gonna focus on physics in NQE this year! I MUST BEAT JOEY!!! =D She's so pro though lol

Anyway back to Pokemon: here's what Allan and I accomplished in the productive 4 hours of the Faraway Films workshop . . .

Nice SES woman called today when I answered the phone. Was asking for donations or volunteering for SES services. Except I knew my parents, being azn, wouldn't donate anyway, so I just said "Sorry Ms, my parents aren't home." I felt so bad lying to her, especially since there's like so many other people with like no homes or presents on Christmas =[ And cause she has to like give up her time volunteering to help out others.

When I grow up, I'm gonna get rich and donate to the SES =) Or volunteer as one of their firefighters or food supply people or those boat rescue people. yayyy

Except he read it before :( So here's another nice (but a little sad) story for you =]

The Man By The Window

Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end.

They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. And every afternoon when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window.

The man in the other bed began to live for those one-hour periods when his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and colour of the world outside.

The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every colour of the rainbow. Grand old trees graced the landscape, and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance.

As the man by the window described all this exquisite detail, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine the picturesque scene. One warm afternoon the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man couldn't hear the band, he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words.

Then, unexpectedly, a sinister thought entered his mind. Why should the other man alone experience all the pleasures of seeing everything while he himself never got to see anything?

It didn't seem fair.

At first thought the man felt ashamed. But as the days passed and he missed seeing more sights, his envy eroded into resentment and soon turned him sour. He began to brood and he found himself unable to sleep. He should be by that window--that thought, and only that thought, now controlled his life.

Late one night as he lay staring at the ceiling, the man by the window began to cough. He was choking on the fluid in his lungs. The other man watched in the dimly lit room as the struggling man by the window groped for the button to call for help. Listening from across the room he never moved; never pushed his own button which would have brought the nurse running in.

In less than five minutes, the coughing and choking stopped, and along with that, the sound of breathing. Now there was only silence--deathly silence.

The following morning the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths.

When she found the lifeless body of the man by the window, she was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take it away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window.

The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the world outside. Finally, he would have the joy of seeing it all himself. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window beside the bed. 

It faced a blank wall.

The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate to have described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. 

“Perhaps,” she said, “he just wanted you to be happy.”

Christmas Day!!!

I would like to declare, fellow readers of this blog, that I no longer believe in Santa Claus. That's right. I have now been scarred for life =(

if u have plenty of quota to spare (unlike me who has to do this at 3 during offpeak <--EDIT 5:33PM 26/12/2009 I just got capped cause the 10mb left of my onpeak quota suddenly disappeared T_T) and have lots of time to spare watch it =) its a message from santa clause!

I normally fall asleep within like 10 minutes of lying in bed, even if it's like stifling hot. Except last night I couldn't even fall asleep at all for over like 3 hours even though I was tired as hell o__O

It's not like I was even excited about Santa Clause coming. I just wanted to sleep before my parents put my stuff in the stocking so that I would not know for certain that Santa Claus wasn't real =(

Except even though I like closed my eyes for hours I didn't sleep at all ==; And I actually tried clearing my throat and pretending to cough as like "warning signs" for them to BACK OFF and come back at unother ungodly hour (that's just an expression - it was actually as Godly as ever last night because it was when God gave Jesus to die for our sins but yeah) except the fan was on and they probably didn't hear T____T

Finally heard them creep in at around 5:30 AM or something ><" The part of me that wanted to believe in Santa just died then. Crushed and shattered. Forever. (sobs)

Spent the day playing board games and stuff with my grandma who just came from Hong Kong =D and my aunt and sister. Some asian game with 4 aeroplanes which u have to get home before anyone else. If you've played it before you'll know what I'm talking about. It's got 4 colours of blue, green, yellow and red and the whole board is coloured that way. Translates to like "FAYY HUN KAY" in canto lol

Then we played Monopoly hehe

Also played Connect 4 with her . . . and despite her being almost 90 she is SO FREAKING GOOD at it (she just learnt to play it too)!!! It was actually like uber hard to beat her (she won like half of the games we played O_O).

Typed that all yesterday night. Except I gave up cause I was too busy downloading stuff while offpeak =D Back when I was STILL uncapped pffft

With Optus, if your offpeak quota is used up, then whatever internet you use then counts onto your onpeak meter. HOWEVER if your onpeak quota is used up, all unused offpeak quote dies with it ==; Which is what happened somehow today even though I was extremely conservation with the 10mb I had left.

Ah well - found this song I'd first heard in Yr 4 and have been searching for for 6 years since =O So happy!!! xDD THough it doesn't sound as pro as I remembered it. But still awesome. But you guys probably won't like it lol . . . it's Dirty Girl by Rob Mills.

YES I GOT MIXPOD WORKING AGAIN!!!

Basically Youtube banned Mixpod from having their players play the Youtube music without the video (I see no practical explanation for this banning o_O)

But so now in order to have a song from a video on Youtube put into Mixpod, your player must be a video player (unlike my player, which is like just an MP3 player). And I didn't want to put in the video player cause it wastes bandwidth for us =(

ANYWAY so I instead found a direct download link for a song I wanted and pasted it in. It's called This Time by Mest and it's SOO awesome!!! Well I like it anyway =)

Today is the 23rd of December. As in the Wednesday.

But if you wanna get technical its like the 24th on a Thursday.

I so should totally finish typing up blog posts before I get distracted and end up doing it days later.

ANYWAY

By this time, we all know it's CHRISTMAS!!! See what I did there? I put that in green and red =) And it also kinda helps to highlight the "Christ" in Christmas, which lots of people forget because most people get carried away with getting presents and Christmas trees and tinsel and other stuff =O

I'm sad. Year 10 is overrrr. And no more 10T but like completely different classes next year for all of us =[

And 3 terms of Yr 11 until YR 12 AND THE HSC begins O__O

i.e. this is our last true summer holiday cos we have to like full nerd next year summer holiday for HSC 

And only a few more terms of sport and no more PE =[

I swear there was some rip in the space/time fabric of the year 2009 AD. It went so strangely fast . . . and it's not just me =O There's even a Facebook group for that with like hundreds of thousands of members lol. Even like Pixie (Angela Wang) and other Yr 8s will be Year 9 already O.O

Ah well at least our last week of Yr 10 was well spent watching the whole of The Matrix and Friends and POTC =D Amazingly, I actually hadn't watched The Matrix before then!! Yes, I do live under a rock ;)
