School can go burn =(

So much work to do now - even without homework school is tedious enough. Wish Christmas would suddenly come and we could for once wind down.

This week was, as usual, mindnumbingly boring . . . the only funny thing was PE Peer Teaching, where a group has to teach the rest of the class a certain sport. It's like a class tradition to piss off the group trying to teach the sport . . . and this time it was the C-Blockers' (Sean kicked out poor Andrew Li and me from their group like he always does -.-) turn with hockey, and our whole class ended up randomly whacking balls everywhere to annoy them. Then when they'd try to teach us how to hit/block the ball properly, people would like bar them and aim the balls at their feet.

LOL We are so slack ;)

And when Sean blew to whistle to try get us all together we all like ran everywhere with one group rolling on the ground pretending to be in trenches and shoot each other with the hockey sticks as rifles, and other groups just plucking grass, and other groups shooting balls through the air and passing to each other. Then he tried to round everyone up like sheep, but naturally as soon as he got one person to sit down and went off to get another person, the first person then ran off again. (And partly cause he didn't want to boss around/offend the popular people or he'd get owned . . . life's like that.)

We're so mature =) Wheeeeeee

UWS Survey yesterday. It was actually pretty fun cause it's so bludgy. After answering like 200 questions (with the same questions repeated at least 6 times - i.e. it could have just been 30 questions or so), we went on to the mathematics test =D

I was prepared this time! Last time I wasted 2 minutes on the 1st question deciding whether or not to put 3 as the solution to 1+1 and didn't finish cause I thought the rest of the test was super easy -.-' Which it wasn't.

Then we come to the spelling test where the dysexlic (they weren't really) noob pronounced all the words the other way round - e.g. unperturbable as unturperble or something o__O

And then the funnest part of the paper - fill in the blanks where everyone racks their creative brain cells!!!

"Remember to take your umbrella," called Tayla's mother. "It looks like _______ today."
Arthur put "It looks like shit today." lmao =)

Then there was:

"The sound was so loud the woman was forced to cover both her __________."

Louie wrote "forced to cover both her breasts". LOL

And:
The sound of the parrot's squawking and screeching enabled the children to
__________ the parrot.

I wrote exterminate xD

Then I was about to go on the 712 and realised I dropped my bus pass somewhere [I dunno why I keep on losing stuff]. Thank you to that senior girl who picked it up and gave it back to me =)

OMG btw I was like Googling John Cho and Kal Penn (Harold and Kumar) earlier today and look what I found o__O
The blogger dude was comparing how his friend looked just like John Cho (on the left).

BUT hOLy crap doesn't the guy on the right look exactly like Victor (or as he insists, "Hot Stuff")??! Must be like his long long long lost cousin =D Freakyyy eh?

So tired . . . cbf trying to study for Chem NQE - I got conquered by chemistry instead -.-'

And if anyone wants the solutions to the quiz from Thursday ask me - poor Cleo stood outside L block for the whole of lunch yesterday to hand them out and no one came to pick them up. I took the pile in the end to hand out to people I saw and I've still got like 10 spares =O

Ah well . . . sleepy time =D Ttyllllsss

Survived

the vaccine. Though everyone got a cold so I have a suspicion it like killed our immune systems somehow. I got nice nurse =)
Anita's nurse stabbed it in the wrong place and she was like bleeding everywhere ><"

Cadets was funny. Everyone got shot in the left arm, and when Buddha's like "right dress" which is where you raise up your left arm parallel to the ground, everyoen like flopped dead

Still haven't found calculator :( Need to find it before the chem NQE or I'm so screwed . . . plz tell me if u see it .__. my calculator is very dear to me lol

omfg science today was so freaky
khoury was like to our class . . . remind me when the bell goes to have a conversation with you
=O
then lindy and ny are liek "we have to go now for rural youth though"
and hes like "oh it doesnt concern you two"
(then whom does it concern? o__O)
then at the end of the lesson he's like "actually ill have a discussion with the staff committee whether or not i need to talk to you about it"
about what?!
maybe theyre having a discussion about cancelling the common test hehe

Woot got braces taken off today =D 5 gum, here i come!!! rhymes too lol

sport tomorrow...
when you do bowling for like 1.5 terms without changing it gets pretty boring...

mckenzies so retarded - apparently she didnt let rec sport ppl change sports because grade sport hadnt finished its season or something...there arent any trials for grade sport in term 3 because its the same teams as term 2...so she could have just lets us change rec sports without affecting the grade sport teams at all
but noooo
we have to wait till halfway through term 3 to change rec sports...so we have like 5 weeks of the sport
subtract the probabilty of rain falling 2 times out of every 5 weeks and thats 3 weeks of that sport...

reason why pe teachers forever remain as pe teachers
also thanks mrs genius for buying us those ripoff crappy $20 pe workbooks (without even telling us and automatically getting us to pay for them afterwards) with like 4 months left to go - that's literally less than a total of 8 periods with our beloved new books. Genius. We have more periods of Agriculture than that in a single fortnight.
The only good thing about the book is the guy on the roller coaster in the bottom right picture with his arms flailing around in an extremely "happy" manner - I full crack up every PE lesson looking at him.

She also lost the list of people who did Tennis in Term 1 and goes around the school chasing people to write down their name if they did Term 1 Tennis so that she could invoice them.
Good luck with that.
Also tried to impose those stupid house shirts on us - obviously none of our grade bought it. Fail. But she managed to bully the yr 7-9s into buying it =O Poor kiddos

Ah well...off to do stupid Harold Holt and LBJ and whatever -.-'
It amazes me how anyone would want to choose history for HSC
anyway cyaaaaz

.__.

Gosh those people who think they're so cool when they turn up their music super loud on buses so that it blares from their speaker and the whole bus is forced to listen to their atrocious music taste are so dumb.
But I guess still not as dumb as those who turn it up with earphones on.
Couldn't sleep on the bus today cos of them :( so tired now

Crap.I lost my calculator..........
So mathsively sad =[

And zomg McKenzie. Stop wasting ink with those stupid PE Quiz questions on the Day Sheet.
NO ONE CARES WHO THAT IS IN THE PICTURE SEEN SCORING A POINT FOR THE DIAMONDS IN THE 198234832874 OLYMPICS -____-

Boy I hate school now :(
Just getting so boring and tiring - and the dumbest thing is that nothing now or even in Yr 11 counts. Can't find any motivation to do anything anym
ore lol
Except science. Cause that's the one thing I'm good at =P

Woot. Dumbass picture of the day:

Fckk. I don't freaking want vaccinations on Monday -.-' I'll end up like this kid...

Oh oops not that extreme. Only like this:

---------_______________-----------

ahahaha that stoney face looks kinda like Aaron from chem =)

anyway off to a call of nature xD TTYLLLL

I love Rio Tinto =)

OMGOMGOMG WE GOT TO GO TO CANBERRA =)
for free =P suck that ppl hehe
cos of the rio tinto big science competition xD
yayyy - we also bludged the science common test ^^

We caught a QANTAS =O
haha jing hang

And then we're in the air!!! =]
Don't you love that feeling when you're staring out the window and the plane guns its engines REALLY loud then full accelerates and lifts off ground?
Woooooooooooooooooh!

Change your perspective =)

Coming back inland

Apparently I'm the only one so excited about riding on planes - I'm like WOAH DID YOU SEE THAT and everyone's like asleep .__. loooooooooolz

After only like 40 minutes we get to Canberra (safely on a QANTAS). Yayyyy
ANU is so pretty man ^__^

RoFL a Jackie Chan Science Centre

Because the contributions he's made to science are just completely groundbreaking lmao
But yehh he is awesumm hehe

There was this uber evil/biatchy woman from ASI there -.-' She was like so sarcastic and critical and one of those I-don't-give-a-shit-about-you-what-you-think-cos-I'm-the-most-important people . . . I'd put her face here but then she'd be identifiable and I'd be sued for defamation like that other poor Blogger dude who dissed some celebrity who then forced Google to reveal the blogger's identity.

Then we had the ceremony which was actually pretty anti-climatic :(
They had like a lecture theatre half the size of ours then presented the certificates (pieces of paper) everyone at super dooper speed in like under 5 minutes o__O
Gerald said they used to give glass plaques (did I spell that right or is that the stuff on your teeth?) and free USBs to you!!! >.<"

Then we had some dodgy senator come in with the usual "You are the future" and "We look to you" etc etc etc blahblahblah rhetoric. But then the Dean of Science at ANU and Rio Tinto's chief scientist spoke and it was obvious they really do love science unlike that politician noob

Then the guy's like OH LETS GET SOME OF THE TOP ACHIEVING SCHOOLS TO TALK TO US. LETS START WITH RUSE. So Chi Wai went out and spoke about Ruse. ROFL then later Kevin tells us that the Melbourne Grammar kids (who got like 4 ppl in) were like "OK, when he calls us up I'll go talk". Then the guy calls up MacRobertson's School or something which got like 2 ppl in. LOL SNAPPED - gotta feel pretty embarrassed for them ;)

Anyway afterwards we moved to this huge lecture hall thingo where this cool guy who came from Cambridge uni gave us all these demonstrations where he blew everything up. IT WAS SO AWESOME!! =)
This is where he adds like a drop of water to some random innocent looking powder:
BEFORE

AFTER

EVEN MORE AFTER

Woah look at the mushroom cloud erupting up =)

Next it's blowing up balloons. As in BOOM blowing up tehehe
First he lights a normal balloon. And everyone's like...psh that was pussy man xD
THEN when everyone thinks its like crappy he brings out this yellow balloon with hydrogen in it.
And lights it.
BOOM!! The whole balloon instantly vapourised and a chunk of it (turned brown) landed in my hand. The whole room like exploded and there was like this whole shock wave not of heat but just like pure force sweeping over us =O

And then just when u think it can't get any stronger, he brings out a 2 part Hydrogen, 1 part Oxygen balloon (I dunno why it doesn't react into water).
And then lights it.

BAM!!! I know it looks pretty unspectacular though. But this one was actually so freaking strong the wave of pure energy that like slammed into us was like getting palmed in the face by Big Allan. The whole ceiling of the building (which is like uber solid stone and brick) like shuddered and the room felt like it was gonna explode o__O
And the balloon instantly vapourised into powder instead this time and rained down on all of us - and everyone started coughing cause we breathed it in lol

Here's the powder that landed on my desk - crazy eh? =D

The large chunk in the bottom left quarter was from the explosion before

This is where he's got this water at -6°C: water will stay liquid as long as it isn't disturbed - these test tubes were completely clean with no dust or even scratches to stop the freezing reaction.
But by dropping in an ice cube, the entire mixture freezes as well!!! =]

And remember Bialy's tin in Year 7 science enrichment where he filled it with gas and then after burning it it would suddenly go BOOM? (Year 9s had McCready or someone for science enrichment lolololol). This guy had one of those too!

Lol spot the tin lid =D like a fireball mann

And after this we went off for tours and stuff - half of us went to Physics and the other half to Chem - where it turns out they got to make ice cream with liquid nitrogen. I want :(

But I did get to see a Sheldon Cooper clone in the physics labs!!! LOOL click on pic to enlarge it

Just in case you didn't know Sheldon's the hilarious guy from Big Bang Theory =]

Then there was this crazy machine where you shine a laser beam through all these hundreds of lenses to create some random thing called entanglement of particles or something o__O I had no idea what he was talking about...something about the universe. Anyway:

All those lenses are perfectly aligned with each other so that the laser beam shines through one which redirects the beam to another, then another, then another etcetc =O

Wooooh back on plane :)
So pretty man!

These photos were taken like 5-10 seconds apart =O

Then it was all dark:

Back to Sydney 25 min later =D

Stupid camera lag - everything looks like question marks in this picture -.-'

Down the corridor of death:

Yayyy back home =)

Then went home and nerded for NQE -____- which was so gay
But luckily they didn't test any of electricity, magnetism, light or waves which I couldn't be screwed reading =D

K SLEEPY TIME =]

One tin soldier rides away . . .

One of my favourite songs of all time.

Mistakenly labelled Puff the Magic Dragon. The real title is One Tin Soldier.
Hope you guys like it too - we could learn a lot from it =)

Puff the magic Dragon - Me First and the Gimme Gimmes

Listen children to a story
That was written long ago
Bout a kingdom on a mountain
And the valley far below
On the mountain was a treasure,
Buried deep beneath the stone
And the valley people swore
They'd have it for their own.

So go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend
Do it in the name of heaven,
You can justify it in the end
There won't be any trumpets blowing,
Come the judgment day
But on the bloody morning after,
One tin soldier rides away.

So the people from the valley
Sent a message up the hill
Asking for the buried treasure,
Tons of gold for which they'd kill
Came an answer from the kingdom,
"With our brothers we will share
All the secrets of the mountain,
All the riches buried there."

Now the valley cried with anger,
"Mount your horses, draw your swords"
And they killed the mountain people,
So they won their just rewards
Now they stood beside the treasure,
On the mountain, dark and red
Turned the stone and looked beneath it,
"Peace on earth" was all it said.

So go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend
Do it in the name of heaven,
You can justify it in the end
There won't be any trumpets blowing,
Come the judgment day
But on the bloody morning after,
One tin soldier rides away.

Yay

Woooot
I'm a millionaire suckers

Even though it for some reason says win@aol.com :(

Wheeeeee

So bored . . . fcking maths enrichment - luckily Yahoo Answers is here to save the day
Google you suck. The exact page where the solution to Problem 15 was was "not part of this book preview." -.-'
Everything before and after was though.
Without Yahoo Answers the world would be missing a lot of enlightenment.

Screw this problem solving. I'm gonna be one of those awesome scientists at CERN when I grow up =] Heheee
Maybe I can then find out where all the antimatter went when the Big Bang took place. It must have gone somewhere.
And what else is out there .__.

Woooooo FUN!!!

And ho-lee sheet! It WAS Buljevic! I thought the Year 9 girl was joking.

Looooool
Can't wait ;) Off to Canberra on Tuesday =]
Time to sleeeeep

"No, I haven't freaking started studying!!! OMG I'm so screwed!"

Really?

SDD Trials today. Last night on MSN was amazing. Remember those Asian mothers who insist on strongly denigrating their child's academic ability in front of other Asian mothers and saying the other mother's child is so much smarter, whilst secretly knowing (or thinking) that their son is in actual fact the smartest one out of all (as the Gaysheet once pointed out)? Looks like their abilities have passed down to their children.

I can't be the first to be so irritated by those assholes who lie without flinching that they "did nothing in the holidays" and "you're gonna so own in the test" or that they "just started studying" and end up getting full marks in an exam. Why bother lying about something as trivial as that? Jeez.

It's amazing (so amazing, so amazing - btw that song sucks Timmy =P) how competitive people really are . . . they think the slightest thing such as revising together will give you an advantage because they'll ask something you missed and you're gonna go restudy it. Now, back to the denigrating of one's abilites:

well i suppose there's not much else to do
except wish chen a happy birthday for tomorrow =) i still can't write those algorithms or draw those damn diagrams.
oh yeah ...
LAME yeah i RECKON.
LAMELAME
i've barely studied theory

Oh really?

nah, gerald will own it too.
yeah
he started reading yesterday

Do you truly believe that the person who has consistently come 1st in SDD just "started reading yesterday"? i.e. He is planning to cover 250 pages of mind-twisting content in one day?

Anyway, the problem was that Rajendran had told us the Trials covered Chapters 1-8. The practice papers we got all covered Chapters 1-9. So we're like . . .
We go back and check what Chen wrote down before she left and its like "Cover Chapters 1-9 BEFORE Trials". So naturally, everyone panicked.

is ANYONE gonna study t hem? cause i honeslty feel like just claiming marks if that's in the test
dude i'm not even studyig 7 8
i don't ever remember learning them
study  7
LOL

You're really not studying Chapters 7 or 8? And you're saying "LOL" at "study 7"?
Section III is the section where you have to know either Chapter 9 or 10.

if it' schoic ebewteen 7 and 9 or something
choose 7
if 9 and 10
i'm sleeping
i'm sleeping for that section
not gonna do that shit

After this he leaves (and kept getting added back to the convo). Anyone else also think he ran off and studied his ass off for Chapter 9? As did everyone else? You think they really planned on "sleeping for that section"?

That's what's so retarded about Ruse. Everyone's so freaking competitive over the smallest things. Including one (or several) person in my class who always feels the need to interrogate others on their scores if they did well. Also including the people in my class who refused to give anyone else Visual Basic thinking that doing so would give them an advantage in SDD (though they're quite unrelated, and in the end everyone eventually got it themselves for themselves anyway). Or the people who refused to give me Mr. Guan's number, afraid that I would be better than they at maths if I went to him as well.
Btw that's a good test. Go up to someone in Ruse and ask for their tutor details. Most people will claim they don't get tuition, or scream a straight NO in your face. It's true.

Situations like these really highlight how much you can trust people around you. Despite what everyone thinks, I think the most straightforward people in the class are Jeffery and Ceyon.

Anyway enough ranting. Time to go sleep.

Hi Jeffery

This post is dedicated to Jeffery. Who also signed up to the deal (before me in fact) for free speakers from Catch of the Day - all we had to do was mention Catch of the Day somewhere...like a simple Facebook status.

Except his Facebook profile is set to private...i.e. they couldn't see his status LOLFAIL
I got speakers =) Just to rub in his face how good they are:

Muahahaha =) Time to get back to SDD now ><" Ttyllll

Who doesn't love the Guesspac?

Australian Mathematics Trust has once again caused suffering to countless numbers of poor, vulnerable Australian school students with questions God only ever intended for Hong Kong and Singaporean children to attempt :(

I didn't even get any of the last five...then as soon as you walk out everyone's like "Oh man, that was sooo easy." I wish I could eat Jinghang/Allan's brain =]

lolwtf I ran out of time cause at first I was going SUPER slowly and carefully...I spent like 1 whole minute on the first question [(2000+9)+(2000-9)] then like 2 min on each one after that -.-'

No $50 for me this year =[

Zomg chem was so stupid today...didn't get any of it at all cause I didn't go last week...even phys yesterday was better. It was actually pretty funny cause we have Khoury!!! And Louie.
Khoury: "Where's Amol?"
Louie: "Burrowing underground."
Then Paul does his super contagious giggle/snort/laugh and everyone can't help laughing too x) Seriously, Paul has the funniest laugh ever ^__^

Went home then came back for extremely boring Subject Selection Evening - the only good thing was that they had FOOD!!! xD Everyone's eyes were like glued to the table the whole session.

Then the teacher's like "We will now have a 10-15 minute break" and the Asians descended like vultures. Or more like peregrine falcons. They're faster at 440km/h. Though still not fast enough to outrun starving asians.

Trying to squeeze through the sea of a mere ONE person deep crowd is harder than you think with asian parents. It's like trying to get to a $100 note with a piece of super elastic glad wrap between the both of you - you can see the $100 note; it keeps taunting you, but no matter how hard you shove your face against the plastic and try to get to it some invisible force keeps bouncing you back. In this case the "invisible force" was the gluteus maximus of the relentlessly advancing asian parents.

Then you see an asian parent with their plate bearing a strange resemblance to the graph on a Cartesian plane of a starving child's fervour and anticipation level as he is led to believe that he is about to finally reach the table of food as an asian parent in front of him leaves the table only to realise seconds later that in that microsecond of jubilation another asian parent has slipped into the gap previously occupied by the first parent.

In other words, their plate looks kind of like this:

(Does anyone know what kind of functions could look like that but above the x axis? =O For this one I had to draw y=-|x| to flip it along the x axis.)

Note in particular, the amount of food, which funnily enough is labelled "FOOD".

Luckily after some top ninja stealth work, I made my way through the impenetrable barrier, and found myself the remains of the sushi, egg tarts, cheese puffs and all this other stuff =)

Then once your plate starts to also resemble the graph of y=-|x| you feel the eyes of another asian parent upon you. You look to the left from where the force seems to be emanating. Unlike Newton's Third Law, you do not possess the power to return an equal and opposite staring force, for Newtonian Laws cease to exist within the environment of a black hole that sucks life out of its surroundings, a la Dementors. Turns out the asian mother beside you is supposedly one that your mother knows (asian parents know ALL other asian parents), and hence you are meant to know them as well.

"Harllo Cellarmant. How are-lo yew?"
"Oh, hi um...(racks brain for name of asian mother but hits mental block)"
*Awkward turtle moment*
During this conversation I also had a half eaten sushi slice mashed between my teeth...then like 10 seconds later I suddenly remember whose mum she was ><"

I crawl my way back to safety inside the windbreak of Jeffery who is with Fang, and Fang points to a man on the opposite side of the table.
"Haha dudes, look at that guy's plate. What an asian!" The guy is dressed in a brown jacket, looks a typical asian father, and wears glasses.

That "guy" is also my dad.

*Awkward turtle moment*
*Someone coughs*
*Cricket chirps outside*

Then we randomly burst into laughter =)

Mr. Woodhouse rings a bell to signal the end of the tea break. No one takes notice - obviously food is of the utmost importance now. After 3 more rings, we finally get back to our seats. It also turns out asian parents would probably excel at our Social Engineering Challenge too. They managed to stack the cups and plates in such a way that the bin filled to 2x its full capacity - the cups were literally coming out of the bin to a height of like 80cm or more - perfectly balanced o__O

We listen for another hour or so of ramblings (including this girl who never seemed to pause for breath at all) and then leave for home! What a fun day =)

Then I go home and play Peggle. Yayyy.
Lol I just realised there was this cool labels section in here. Gonna try it out hehe
